Ying and Niq’s Niche

My car will turn 1 year old 24-Jun-09. So far it has clocked more than 23000km. I’ve switched to semi-synthetic engine oil for the last 2 services. My grey horse has served me well so far. It carried 6 adults and 1 child to Koh Samui and back safely. I pump my front tyres to 36psi and 39psi for the back. This gave a pretty comfortable ride.

Sat, 6-Jun-09. We made a trip back to Ipoh for the long weekend. Upon reaching Ipoh, we had high tea at Makanan Traditional Taiwan (Yong He Dou Jiang) at Medan Ipoh Bistari. As you exit the NS Highway at Ipoh Selatan south-bound, it is after McDonald’s and behind PC Depot. GPS Coordinates: N04º 37.204′, E101º 7.042′. As the name suggests, they serve traditional Taiwanese cuisine and soya milk. We had Thick Soup Noodle, Pan Fried Radish Cake and Egg Roll. As for drinks, we tried Soya Milk Plain and Soya Rice Milk. The Soya Rice Milk has a nice fragrance - recommended. My only complaint is that they don’t provide chili sauce.

Sun, 7-Jun-09. Had buffet dinner with Ying’s family at Tower Regency Hotel, Ipoh. Ipoh Tower - the newest and tallest in Ipoh - houses the hotel, office building and also service apartments. A spacious and grand lobby greets you as you enter the hotel. There was a good spread of food for the buffet dinner which cost RM33++. They serve good cream soup, spaghetti with spinach cream sauce, beef rendang and nasi ulam. For reservation, call +605-2418888. GPS Coordinates: N 04º 36.034′ E 101º 5.271′.
