Sun, 19-Apr-09. Went to Ocean Green Seafood (GPS Coordinates: N5 25.576 E100 19.568) for lunch. This place was quite difficult to find. It is situated by the sea side, at the end of an alley along Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah, just before Despark Auto College. It is easy to miss the turn so go slow. We had oyster noodle, salted egg crabs and stir fried broccoli. The food was nice. Their salted egg crab is one of their signature dishes

The beach is a popular spot among anglers and offer good landscape photography opportunities. Sad to say the beach is not suitable for picnic as there were lots of ants.

Celebrating in Harmony

Celebrating in Harmony

On the 15th day of Chinese New Year, we visited the Kuan Yin Temple along Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling, Penang. This temple is one of the oldest Chinese temples in Penang. A nearby coffee shop has the best Loh Mee in Penang. Thaipusam, a Hindu celebration coincides with Chinese New Year festivities this year. With the Kuan Yin Temple located in proximity to Little India, it really takes tolerance to live in harmony. The photo describes it all.

Day at Shamrock Beach

Sat, 14-Feb-09: Brought Gabriel to Shamrock Beach, near Tanjong Tokong. As we reached the beach we looked around for a suitable spot to lay our mat. We saw 2 Indian guys talking to a Chinese lady. Apparently, the Chinese lady was interested to buy their catch (some prawn, crab and fish) for a ridiculous amount of RM5.00. The fishermen were casting their net since sunrise and they were unwilling to part with their fruit of labor of 4 hours, and getting cut by sharp rocks. The 2 guys were nice and friendly. I started to chat with Mr. A while Mr. B played with Gabriel. Mr. A said that I was softspoken. I wish that I could remain that way, but in actual fact, I have been through a lot of stress since CNY 2009. Mr. A also revealed that while in prison he was healed of stomach ulcer after a Christian priest prayed over him. He now has strong belief in the teachings in the Bible. Our encounter has left me thinking deeply about what he said. I hope that God will help me through this trying time and that I may never forget myself.
